Different cultures have different customs surrounding food and eating.Describe a food related custom you grew up with or have experienced.

Everytime we eat we must always not talk only until everyone is done then can one talk. If someone is still eating f we must wait. This shows that fro my culture we give respect to the food and give thanks to god for allowing us to eat yet another meal. Thus I learned that sometimes during the day we also must have a quiet time to reflect about our actions that we did or could have done throughout the day. Over all this shows that my culture values a lot respect and effort that goes into growing and bearing able to put food on the table for one or more people thinking god for yet another day to live and eat with our loved ones.

Write about a time when you realized that your perception of a particular food was based on a stereotype.

Originally I always thought why do people say we only eat beans or are we bean people. I always found that kinda weird.i believed everyone ate it but then i found out that a lot of people do eat beans but Mexicans eat it even more.i even asked my mother and what she told me is because it’s out peoples food.i asked her what do you mean our peoples food? She then explained we Mexicans mainly grow it live from it and feed from it. Its a food source that has sustained almost everyone’s lives.although to our people its was more of a blessing than any other food.Since then I always thank the beans for being a blessing to me and my family. Over all people always say things of others. I just learned to live with it and appreciate what is given to me and appreciate others for what they do and give me. My thinking shifted the moment I stoped thinking it was just a crop but something more meaningful to my family. I always used to question it but after hearing an explanation from my mother I belie...

What is one dish from your culture that is a must have as a representation of your culture.

A very important dish from my culture is definitely the tamal. This dish represents how the past future and present have been through my family’s culture. It shows genuine care of people. Showing love for cooking for others, and respect. Overall my mother taught me from young that one person can tell a story and a dish can tell many more. Meaning that very dish can tell how our people lived in the past how we live in the present and how one might live like in the future. I think that perhaps people should try and understand a special dish of their culture, Maybe by doing this they can find something that is different from others and find something that they can call their own in their culture.

Different look

The different look that Troy appeared on the short film was somewhat different from the book. I at first imagined a very old looking man but in the film Troy looked somewhat younger. His hair was different compared to what I had imagined the movie did not change the way the character acted. It played exactly as it did in the book. I can understand that in films certain characters will or might have different looks compared to how one imagines it in their head but overall it seemed almost the same to me as I had imagined in my head

Changes of how one is viewed

Do I believe that one major lie or betrayal can permanently change how you view a certain person. Yes I do believe this not only do I believe it but I lived it. It’s things or choices that some people make that can make you even regret meeting that person or having a certain type of relationship with them even if you have known or trusted a person for a certain time. I say this because due to what type of action the person made then one really has to think about their trust. Trust can easily be earned but if betrayed it will never be that easy again. If the action leads to someone’s death or injury or mental illness that trust can and will never be allowed to be rebuilt again. Me personally having experienced this I know what these prompt is asking. Yes their have been instances that I have allowed trust to be rebuilt but never to the extent it once was.

What do I believe a parent owes their kids

I believe that the most minimal a parent owes to a kid is at least a type of encouragement. I say this because what kid would not want a loving or encouraging parent pushing them to do their best. There are many kids who don’t receive this type of attention or affection which then gets in passed to their own kids. Things like emotional support are not really separate from a parent’s responsibility things like that naturally come out of one. Form what I can infer from this prompt is that I came to an understanding that their are people who fell a certain way to kids. Talking care of them only due to having a sense of responsibility to them.

Responsibilities and choices

Their have been things I have wanted to do in life before and also things I needed to do  Growing up I lost my father early in life which lead to me taking on heavy responsibilities and during that time period their were many times I would have wanted to go out with my friends but that need and want could not coexist so I did what I needed to do over what I wanted to do  I can see what other people are talking and about how their choices in life affect their needs and wants some people are affected by outside factors they can not control while others are satisfied in the end I did not like the choices I made but overall those choices let me live my life how it is now.
